Therapeutic support for neurodiverse adults

More than a diagnosis

Online or in-person therapy that sees the whole person, not just a diagnosis.

At For-Psych, we believe that understanding how your brain works can be the beginning of positive change.

But sometimes, understanding isn't enough on its own.

Our therapy services are delivered by Psychologists who are trained in a range of therapeutic approaches and help people with a range of psychological difficulties.

We get it

We understand neurodivergent people, because neurodivergence is part of our team's own lives and experience. We understand that difficulties don't exist in isolation and that sometimes the problem is the mismatch between the person and the world around them.

We take the time to understand you as an individual, your strengths, experiences, needs, relationships and unique way of understanding the world.

Neuro-affirmative Therapy

Our Psychologists have particular expertise in providing neuro-affirmative therapy.

We see neurodivergence as an important part of who you are.

Together, we can explore how neurodivergence may influence your:

  • Identity and sense of self
  • Emotional wellbeing and mental health
  • Relationships and communication
  • Sensory experiences
  • Emotional regulation
  • Executive functioning
  • Work and everyday life
  • Experiences of masking and burnout

Therapy is never one-size-fits-all.

We work collaboratively with you to understand what is happening, what matters to you and what you would like to be different. Your therapy is shaped around your experiences, strengths, needs and goals.

Understanding yourself as an adult

For adults, a diagnosis, whether recent or long suspected, can be a turning point. Therapy offers space to explore identity, unmasking, and the impact of adapting to environments that weren’t designed with you in mind.

Our work with adults may include:

  • Making sense of a diagnosis and its impact
  • Understanding sensory processing and emotional regulation
  • Exploring executive functioning challenges
  • Reducing shame and self‑criticism
  • Building self‑compassion and celebrating strengths
  • Navigating relationships, work, and daily life in ways that feel authentic
  • Listening to your body and recognising signs of burnout

We aim to create a space where you can be fully yourself without judgement or pressure to “fit in”.

Therapy that starts where you are

At For-Psych, we don't believe everyone needs the same amount of support.

Sometimes a single session is enough to help you think through something that has been troubling you.

Sometimes you want several sessions to explore a particular difficulty.

And sometimes you need longer-term therapy to work through more complex or longstanding challenges.

That's why our Therapeutic Support is flexible and pay-as-you-go.

There is no requirement to commit to a fixed number of appointments.

You can book a single session or arrange further sessions depending on what feels right for you.

Online or in person

Therapy should feel accessible and comfortable.

We offer appointments in person in Cardiff or online by video call, allowing you to choose the format that works best for you.

We can also take your individual preferences and sensory needs into account when considering how therapy is delivered.

Choose the level of psychological support that's right for you

At For-Psych, you can access psychological therapy with either a Trainee Psychologist or a Qualified Psychologist.

Both provide neurodiversity-informed psychological support and work within our values of compassionate, person-centred care.

Therapy with a Trainee Psychologist

Our Trainee Psychologists have experience delivering a range of psychological therapies under the supervision of our Qualified Psychologists.

They bring up-to-date psychological knowledge, a warm and compassionate approach, and a genuine commitment to understanding neurodivergent experiences.

Therapy with a Qualified Psychologist

Our Qualified Psychologists have extensive professional experience supporting people with a range of psychological and neurodivergent needs.

They can offer psychological therapy tailored to your individual circumstances and goals.

Not sure which is right for you?

That's completely okay.

You don't need to know what type of therapy you need, which psychologist you should see, or how many sessions you might need before you contact us.

We'll talk with you about what you're looking for and help you find the right psychologist and level of support.

Ready to talk?

If you're wondering whether psychological therapy could help, you can speak to one of our psychologists before booking.

You don't need to have the right words.

You don't need to know exactly what you need.

Just start with a conversation.
