For-Psych is an independent psychology practice in South Wales. It provides specialist assessment and support for adults and children with ADHD, Autism and learning disabilities.
All of our team are neurodiverse or have loved ones who are. This helps us understand the experience of the people we work with. It also helps us prioritise two important things:
We have seen and experienced first-hand how helpful it can be to have a comprehensive assessment and diagnosis for a neurodiverse condition. It is the starting point to positive change. We believe that people should not have to wait a long time for this and aim to provide an assessment appointment within six weeks of an initial enquiry.
We also believe in writing a comprehensive report to help you and others understand the outcome of the assessment. Our assessors also offer an additional session after the report has been written to explain what the outcome means, answer any questions, and consider how to use the findings to create positive change. We think this is very important step for people’s journey in understanding themselves.
For-Psych offers additional support beyond this. Post Diagnosis Support and Therapeutic support can help people to further understand themselves and address any difficulties they are experiencing. We believe in matching the support to what a person needs and not forcing everyone to commit to long-term therapy. We therefore offer a range of options from single support sessions for people who need a little bit of extra assistance, to longer-term therapy for those who seek more comprehensive help.
With over 50 years of collective experience, our team of Registered Psychologists are trained in accordance with the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines and use only recommended assessments and therapies. We choose our practitioners because they are human-centred, friendly and professional.
