Post-diagnosis Support

I've completed an assessment, what now?

Post-diagnosis Support

Receiving a neurodivergent diagnosis, whether for Autism, ADHD or both, is a life-changing experience that can trigger a wide range of thoughts and emotions. For some, it brings a sense of relief and clarity, finally putting a name to experiences they have carried for years. For others, it can raise new questions, stir up complex feelings, or feel overwhelming to process alone.

Post-diagnosis support can play a vital role in helping individuals move forward with confidence and self-understanding. Without it, many people are left to navigate the implications of their diagnosis in isolation, which can lead to confusion, frustration, or missed opportunities to thrive. Structured support helps bridge the gap between receiving a diagnosis and actually living with it. At For-Psych, we offer 3 sessions of post-diagnosis support for people who want to make sense of their traits and consider what they mean to them. These sessions provide a safe, non-judgmental space to reflect, ask questions, and begin building a roadmap for the future. The sessions can be delivered online or at our Cardiff office.

Each person's experience of neurodivergence is unique, so our sessions are tailored to your individual needs and circumstances. Together, we explore topics such as:

  • Making sense of my diagnosis and traits — understanding what your diagnosis actually means, how it shapes the way you think, feel, and interact with the world, and why certain experiences may have felt more challenging or different compared to those around you. This can be a powerful step toward self-acceptance, helping reframe past experiences through a new, more compassionate lens.
  • Exploring my strengths and challenges — recognising the unique abilities and perspectives that come with your neurodivergent profile, alongside the areas where targeted support or adjustments can make a meaningful difference
  • Finding strategies and setting goals for my future — developing practical, personalised tools and approaches to help you manage day-to-day life more effectively. This might include strategies for organisation, communication, emotional regulation, or managing sensory needs. We also work with you to identify meaningful goals — whether in work, education, relationships, or personal wellbeing — and explore how to move toward them in a way that works for you.

The sessions will be delivered by a Trainee Psychologist. The cost for the three sessions is £180.00
